Philippines is a popular destination because of it’s amazing tourist attractions. But there’s something in the Philippines you probably don’t know until now. There are actually 2 mysterious grottoes (or statues) in Philippines you can only see underwater!
Most grottoes, artificial grottoes are located in gardens or located in caves near tidal waters but these 2 grottoes are different. They are actually, intentionally sunk underwater with a sole purpose.
The reason why they were installed underwater is to prevent fishermen from the use of illegal fishing practices like the use of cyanide and dynamite.
These 2 mysterious grottoes are located in Bohol, Philippines.
In the year 2010, 2 Grottoes sunk underwater in Danajon Bank Double Barrier Reef Marine Park in Bien Unido, Bohol. One was the Blessed Virgin Mary on September and the other was the Santo Niño on October. These two 14-foot tall grottoes are sunk down 60 feet underwater.
All these grottoes were sunk down through the help of the Seaknights and the Boholano divers.
On the year 2012, the Philippines hosted the first underwater pilgrimage on the 7th – 8th day of September in Bien Unido, Bohol.
Maybe your religious friends or family members don’t even know these grottoes underwater really existed, share it with them.
